Pattern Paintings
Ninth
grade Studio Art students gladly accepted the challenge
of this unique painting lesson.
Students were first asked to
crop into a reference photo of a
pattern to find an interesting composition.
Next, using acrylic
paint, students painted their compositions.
Finally, students placed their
painted (and now camouflaged)
hands on their two-dimensional paintings for a
digital photo,
thus creating an additional piece of art.
*Special thanks
to Melissa Speelman for allowing us to do this lesson.
